Business Development Manager

6K Additive, a division of 6K, Inc.,- located in Burgettstown, PA utilizes a proprietary process in the production of high performance metal powders for Additive Manufacturing.

6K’s UniMelt™ plasma technology enables customers to tailor powders to their specifications, in order to meet advanced product requirements in demanding end markets.

Our company is looking for a seasoned Business Development Manager with experience from within the metal powder manufacturing industries.

The position can be remote and will report directly to the Vice President of Sales

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and research potential clients and markets to generate new business opportunities;
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the company's client base, revenue streams and meet long-term growth targets;
  • Recommend new product or process development opportunities through market research, identifying needs and trends and understanding the competitive landscape;
  • Manage product qualifications with customers including program milestone timing, budget and transition into commercial production;
  • Drive responsiveness to customer requests including developing project plans, negotiating contracts and preparing quotations or proposals;
  • Meet sales financial objectives by accurately forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective action plans;
  • Capture information and analyzes data in the company’s CRM to transact and develop new sales opportunities;
  • Participate in technical/professional organizations or networking groups, attends trade shows and/or conferences to obtain new leads;
  • Prepare sales presentations to explain 6K Additive capabilities and competitive advantages;

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Business, Masters degree preferred
  • Five (5) plus years of experience with proven track record in business development, sales, or account management with experience in metal powders or advanced materials;
  • Experience with managing product development or qualifications with end use customers; hands-on experience with additive manufacturing equipment and metal powders preferred;
  • Deep, relevant, industry experience, including contacts and knowledge of the market;
  • Customer focused attitude, with the ability to translate technical product information into strong customer value propositions;
  • Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial budgeting processes;
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, time and project management skills required;
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little direct supervision;
  • Strong computer skills with MS Office Suite and CRM software.
